Organic Food - Few Myths
We talked about what Organic means and what
are few things to know when we tag the word “Organic” to a food item or to any
personal or home care product. Now that we heard the good part, lets understand
few myths about Organics that no one talks about or perceive in a wrong way
when talking about
Organic foods–
• Myth1: Zero
pesticides in Organic Farms.
Nope! Organic
farmers do use pesticides. The only difference is that they're
"natural" instead of "synthetic”. Natural are less harmful than
synthetic.
• Myth2: Organic
Vegetables look fresh and shiny than non-organic foods
Wrong! They look
natural and more worn out compared to regular vegetables. Reason being they are
taken raw without beautifying the fruits and vegetables with chemicals like
wax.
• Myth3: It is
always more nutritious.
Not always the
case. It depends on how long a shop is holding on to that item on the shelf. We
at JIVAVRKSA are always on top and items shelf life to meet our quality bar.
• Myth4: You
don’t need to wash Organic fruits and vegetables
Wrong again!
Even though no pesticides and chemicals are used, they are taken from raw soil,
which might have bacteria or germs. So always wash your fruits and vegetables.
• Myth5: Organic
= Natural
False! It’s a
separate topic to be discussed in detailed but no they are not the same. There
are subtle differences. So don’t be fooled by the term Natural.

Organic –Is it affordable?
Organic –Is it affordable?
Fact being that
organic food cost more than conventional food; many think it is not affordable.
When I decided to go organic and visited an organic store everything seemed
different from the quality of the food to the pricing. I thought well let me
take more time to make a monthly budget and come back, but I got reminded of
“Big journey starts with small step” so why not start with a single item. Now
when I look back I did the right thing .Got to experience the goodness of
organic food like better health and great taste and overall the satisfaction I
got by feeding my family the right thing. It is better to pay for being healthy
than to a doctor.
